Admission Charges

To ensure a healthy environment for our animals, The Aquarium is operated and maintained 24 hours a day for 365 days a year and pumps cannot be "switched off" at 6 o'clock each night or at the end of the season when there are no longer any summer visitors. This obviously incurs a large additional cost that other types of attraction do not have to meet.

However, it does mean that during the winter months The Aquarium is open to the public or groups by prior arrangement and is able to provide a facility for Orkney Residents and their Children as well as out of season visitors.

Sometimes the aquarium is closed for maintenance during the winter months so it is advisable to contact us prior to arranging a visit.

Special rates are also available for organised group/educational visits, parties of over 10 persons and evening birthday party visits.

Group Admission Prices
Group Admission prices are available to organised parties of more than 10 individuals.

(i.e. 1 Organiser plus minimum of 10 paying individuals. One free admission is available for every 10 paying members of the group.)

The visit must be pre-booked with a 25% deposit paid at least 7 days in advance.
A single payment is required from the nominated organiser for the balance due on the date of the visit.
