How to find the Orkney Marine-Life Aquarium

The Aquarium is situated on the Island of South Ronaldsay not far from the Ferry Terminal at St Margaret's Hope where the ferry from Gills Bay on the Scottish Mainland arrives in Orkney.

From the A961 between Burray at the Forth Barrier and St Margaret's Hope, take the B9044 south (signposted South Cara). The Aquarium is half a mile from the A961.

Opening Times

The Aquarium is open April to October from 10am to 6pm
and in the evenings for pre booked groups and birthday party visits. (Also from the weekend before Easter if Easter falls early).

We are also open to bookings and pre-arranged visits out of season but we require a non returnable deposit at the time of booking.

Disabled Access
Disabled access is available all around the Aquarium and assistance is available on ramp areas if required. It should be noted that some of the aquarium tanks have a limited view of the lower areas of the tanks from a wheelchair viewpoint but visitors have not found this a particular disadvantage to their enjoyment of the aquarium in the past.

Please contact the aquarium on 01856 831700 to check the availability of the date you require for your number and age of party-goers.
We will inform you of the facilities available on that date and provide a quotation for your party and their requirements.

Bookings
Bookings are require for larger groups and parties to ensure that we have staff available to meet your requirements.
Concessions are available to organised groups and parties. Please ring 01856 831700 for a quotation for your party.
